The company operates within the framework of an intergovernmental partnership established between the Somali Ministry of Fisheries and Blue Economy and Türkiye.
SOMTURK is the sole officially authorized institution responsible for ensuring that commercial fishing activities in the Somali Fisheries Exclusive Economic Zone are licensed in full compliance with national legislation, regulatory frameworks, and public policy objectives.
